IMiX, a not-for-profit migration communications hub offers a range of training and support for groups and organisations working with and for refugees, people who are seeking asylum and migrants.
Core to our vision is to shift public attitudes around migration; all our training and support is underpinned by research on public perceptions of migration. We believe that together we can change the narrative.
We understand that you are busy, and that often communications is the last thing on your mind, so we have created a range of tools to help you promote your work and challenge negative narratives around migration.
All of our training can be tailored to your needs and we are happy to run these courses anywhere in the UK, all we ask is that you provide a room and a projector – and if this isn’t possible, let us know and we’ll help!

In addition to training we also offer one to one and bespoke support. This can include working with you strategically to think through your communication needs, to delivering basic media support such as sending out your press releases and everything in between.
In the past we have helped 1 Day Without Us manage their press activity on days of action; support Refugee Week by acting as media secretariat and pushed out reports for APPG’s.
We know that it can be hard to make time for training so we have created some tool kits to help you better understand how to get your message across in the media and via digital. These are free to download from our website and can be shared with anyone working in our sector. We are going to produce more information and toolkits to help you communicate better, please do share any thoughts on what we should focus on.
