Communications support for your organisation

Good communications can change how people think and feel about migration. But many organisations are stretched thin, without the time, confidence or capacity to tell their stories and reach the audiences that matter.

That is where we come in. Whether you need a quick steer, a one-off workshop or ongoing hands-on support, IMIX is here to help. Much of what we offer is free to the sector, and where you need something more tailored, we provide paid training and consultancy on a fair, sliding scale.

Free support for the sector

As part of our charitable mission, we offer a range of free help to grassroots groups, charities and people with lived experience:

  • Free online masterclasses in media interviews, storytelling, social media and comms planning
  • Ad hoc advice when you need a quick steer, whether that is a tricky media request or a message you want to test
  • Our daily news round-up
  • Sector updates, shared through our Google Group
  • Templates, media briefings and comms resources you can use straightaway
  • Support for people with lived experience to share their stories safely, including media preparation and safeguarding, through our Storytellers Network

Paid consultancy

When you need more than a one-off, we offer tailored, in-depth support delivered by our experienced team and our network of consultants with lived experience of migration. Everything we do is ethical, trauma-informed and designed to build your long-term confidence and capacity, not create dependency.

Our signature programmes

  • Media and messaging training, building core skills in media interviews, message development and public speaking, developed with you so it fits your organisation and your voice
  • Storytelling train-the-trainer, a CPD accredited programme that equips your team or network to run their own storytelling workshops and build confident, media-ready spokespeople, co-produced so the approach reflects your communities
  • Communications strategy consultancy, working alongside your team to define your audiences, shape your messages and embed communications strategy across your work
  • Crisis communications and safeguarding, working with you to build a crisis communications plan so you are ready to protect the people you support and respond with confidence when sensitive moments arise

Embedded comms support

Sometimes you just need an extra pair of hands. We can place an experienced communications professional, from our team or our lived experience consultant network, directly into your organisation for a few weeks or longer. They can help with campaign planning, crisis comms, content creation, media engagement or building your team’s confidence, with IMIX oversight throughout.

One-to-one consultancy and mentoring

Strategic planning, campaign messaging, narrative development and mentoring for emerging comms leads and spokespeople, tailored to where you are and where you want to get to.

Fair, flexible pricing

We operate a sliding scale based on the size of your organisation, so that our paid work helps fund the free support we give to grassroots and lived experience-led groups. Smaller organisations pay less, and for the smallest grassroots groups we often cover our costs only or ask just for expenses. As a registered charity, our fees are exempt from VAT.

We are always happy to talk through what you need and find an approach that works for your budget.
