Immigration is one of the key debates within UK politics and the media and IMIX is working to ensure that debate includes voices from migrants and those who support them. A new charity, IMIX (1183693) was created to support the refugee and migration sector to shift public attitudes on migration to create an open and welcoming Britain for people who make the UK their home. We do this by using innovative communications techniques and support campaigning for change within our partner organisations. The IMIX team is small but effective, taking risks and trying new things, but also uses old school approaches to securing change.
To strengthen our governance, we’re recruiting two more trustees and are looking for candidates with senior strategic level experience from one or more of the following areas:
- Financial Management
- Digital engagement
- Stakeholder management
And, the following personal attributes:
- The skills to analyse strategies and draw out the implications and opportunities
- A commitment to IMIX and its values and ethics
- Sound, independent judgement, and a willingness to speak your mind
- A willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and effort
- An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
- An ability to work effectively as a member of a team

What difference will you make?
From Windrush to shining a light on EU citizens rights to shaping media narratives on channel crossings, IMIX is at the heart of some of the biggest migration debates. We are a small, growing charity that was founded this year. Our existing board has experience in communication, governance, fundraising and lived experience of migration and we’re now looking for a financial management trustee to add a variety of skills and experience to our team. We also want to increase our expertise in communications including digital engagement and stakeholder management to better support the Chief Executive.
We are looking to recruit two trustees for a three-year term, with an option to renew. As a trustee we also hope that you will promote the work of IMIX, and collectively ensure that the board exercises its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation. We are looking for trustees who want to use their experience to take a hands-on role in the work of the charity.
We have quarterly board meetings which take place in London, but there is be the option of attending remotely.
